Action research
Teaching After the Feed
An action-research project on teaching in algorithmic culture, run inside my own courses. The habits students bring to a text or an image are trained elsewhere, by systems built to keep them scrolling, and the project asks what those habits mean for a classroom and what a teacher can do in response.
The software at classroomtools.io began here and doubles as instrumentation: the heatmaps and the shared annotation records show where a class looks and what it marks. Findings and write-ups are collected on the project site.
