Recent and current courses. They differ in subject, but each is built so that student work leaves the classroom: written for a reader, or shown to an audience.

Art History

Art History, taught through Aby Warburg's Mnemosyne Atlas. Students arrange works from different centuries into constellations and follow the gestures and motifs that recur across them, and the arrangements accumulate over the year into an Atlas Book. Assessment runs through working forms rather than essays: auction catalogue entries, pitch packages, and a final submission-ready packet prepared for a destination the student chooses, such as a journal submission, a composition score, or an architecture portfolio.

An introductory course in looking at and talking about art. The lesson plans and materials are public in the teaching-materials repository.

Cambridge Media Studies

The platforms students already use every day are treated as primary texts and studied with the same seriousness as film or print.

Cambridge Art & Design

A practical course in developing ideas through visual research, experimentation with materials and techniques, and finished work.

Cambridge Digital Media & Design

Digital photography, moving image, and digital design, with an emphasis on developing, testing, and refining ideas.
